SOLD: 2007 Vespa LX150 | $1800

Vespa is often the first name that comes to mind when the word scooter is said aloud. The classic Italian scooter company offered riders a new model in 2006, the LX50 and LX150. These models were sleek, designer scooters with enhanced comfort and solid performance.
With its lower center of gravity; its larger 11-inch front and 10-inch back wheels providing more control and agility; and newly designed ergonomic seat, which allows for correct body posture when engaging the controls, cruising around town on the Vespa LX 50 or hitting the highways on the LX 150, with its top speed of 59 mph, is a dream for the classic scooter enthusiast.
The 2007 Vespa LX sports an advanced mixed brake system for this model year, featuring a 7.8-inch front disc with hydraulic linkage and a dual opposed piston, hydraulic caliper and a 4.3-inch drum with mechanical linkage bringing up the rear.
Design elements on the 2007 Vespa LX are generally smooth and curvy, with the overall look of the scooter leaning toward a synthesis of 1950s and 1960s designs, coupled with some design elements of the 1970s models. The Vespa LX comes standard with passenger grip bars and a touring seat built for two riders. Available colors for the 2007 Vespa LX models include Capri Blue, Cortina Gray, Dragon Red, Midnight Blue, and Yellow.

The benefits of owning a Vespa LX150 speak for themselves:

  • Over 70 miles per gallon
  • Ergonomic riding characteristics
  • Stable suspension design
  • Speeds above 59 mph
  • Multiple safety features

We know you have questions. Let’s answer some general questions to help you get more familiar.

DO I NEED A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE TO RIDE A SCOOTER?

Yes. In the State of Missouri, riding a scooter larger than 49cc requires a standard motorcycle endorsement. If you do not have a motorcycle endorsement you will need to complete your written and riding test at your local DMV.

DOES FLYING TIGER OFFER AN INSTRUCTIONAL RIDING A COURSE?

Our staff is happy to provide new riders with a basic introduction to safely operating your scooter at the time of purchase. In-depth riding courses are available at Forest Park Community College and can be scheduled by visiting the Motorcycle Riders Course page. We highly suggest this course for all riders, new and experienced alike.

AM I REQUIRED TO REGISTER MY SCOOTER AND GET A LICENSE PLATE?

Yes. In the State of Missouri, your scooter does require a standard motorcycle license plate and registration with the department of motor vehicles.

ARE ANY SALES OR PROPERTY TAXES OWED AFTER I PURCHASE A NEW OR PRE-OWNED SCOOTER?

Sales tax on all new scooters above 49cc is paid through the Department of Revenue at the time of registration. Property tax is assessable in the State of Missouri depending on your county.

DOES MY NEW SCOOTER COME WITH A TITLE?

New vehicles, including scooters, are shipped with an MSO or Manufacturers’ Certificate of Origin. This document serves as a record of manufacture for the specific vehicle including a vehicle identification number (VIN), place of manufacture, manufacturing date, vehicle weight, power, etc. This document serves in place of a title until the vehicle is registered if required to do so.

IS INSURANCE REQUIRED TO OPERATE MY SCOOTER ON PUBLIC ROADS?

You are legally required to carry at least liability insurance in the State of Missouri for a scooter greater in size than 49cc. Some riders do choose to insure their scooters for damage, loss, and personal injury. Check the local laws in your city or state and contact your insurance provider for details on how to protect yourself and your GT150!

SHOULD I WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR SUCH AS A HELMET OR LEATHER JACKET?

While we don’t expect you to adopt the black leather, patches, and metal spikes look right away, we do encourage all riders to protect themselves as best as they can. A DOT (department of transportation) rated helmet, protective clothing such as padded or armored jackets, gloves, and pants, all help to keep you safe when you’re out on the road.

ARE SCOOTERS AVAILABLE FOR TEST RIDES?

Normally, we have one or two scooters prepped and available for test rides. All you would need to provide is a valid driver’s license with an M (motorcycle) endorsement, and to read and sign a waiver of liability. Flying Tiger can provide helmets for test riding.

Flying Tiger makes it a point to select only the best previously owned (previously loved) scooters and motorcycles to place on the sales floor. We keep a varied selection in stock.
